Experience Real Country Living...

The Pleasures of a Simpler Time

Enjoy the pleasures of living in a restored colonial farm house dating to between 1790 and 1810. In every season you'll delight in setting your own hours and pace in the privacy of your own personal historic county home.

Original Logs Uncovered
A
s you enter the back door, exposed log walls tell the story of early carpentry. Each log displays a roman numeral impression indicating its placement for construction. You can even see the axe marks left in the logs as the bark was removed from the trees.

While restoring the house we discovered it originally had a central fireplace that began in the basement and ran to the eaves. Attic timbers and floorboards reveal that long ago, meats were smoked there. These secrets (and more) are described in a self-guided house tour we've prepared for your enjoyment.

                                                                                                                  Scenic Country Setting
Our family continues to raise black angus cattle on the 40+ acres surrounding the farmhouse. Watch the cows graze, listen to the native songbirds, walk in the gardens, say hello to our Amish neighbors, and bring your bicycles to explore our country roads.
